Some advice for preparing your baggage.
As a general rule all passengers except children under 2 years old can carry:
up to 20 kg of checked baggage in the hold in economy class, 15 kg for holiday flights.
- a single item of hand luggage, 5 kg maximum Size: 55 x 40 x 20 cm
No sharp objects are allowed in the cabin. These must be packed in checked baggage.
Each airline has its own specific policy for item such as golf clubs, surfboards, diving equipment etc ... Check with the airline before travelling.
The following items are completely prohibited in both carry-on and checked luggage: explosive items, flammable items, corrosive agents, compressed gases and government prohibited items.
In case of doubt contact the airline with whom you are travelling.
Make sure to attach a name and address tag to your luggage.
Security Measures
A security check is carried out when you enter the departure lounge at the security checkpoint. You will be asked for your boarding card and proof of identity.
Permitted Items
Liquids, cosmetics, aerosols, sharp or blunt objects (such as golf clubs) are allowed in the hold.
Prohibited Items
In addition to hazardous materials which are strictly prohibited on board the aircraft , there is a list available on the French Civil Aviation Authority website of all other prohibited items, either on board or in the hold.
Restricted Items
To carry liquids (such as mineral water, perfume, drinks or lotions), cosmetics (such as creams, shower gel, mascara and shampoo) or aerosols (deodorant, hairspray) either on your person or in your hand baggage you must comply with certain conditions.
All liquids, cosmetics or aerosols must :
Be in containers smaller than 100 ml
Be held together in a single closed transparent plastic bag 20 cm x 20 cm max.
Some particular cases for hand baggage :
You are allowed to carry the following in your hand baggage, in an amount appropriate for the duration of your trip:
- Baby or infant food
- Liquid medicine required during flight which must be accompanied by your prescription
- Liquids purchased after the security checks in the departure lounge shops or vending machines are allowed in the cabin in any container subject to customs limits. These items have been checked before placing in the overhead lockers.
- Insulin for diabetic passengers, accompanied with the prescription. Please refer to the document "Diabetics at the Airport" available on the French Civil Aviation Authority website.
